Twitter is in meltdown over US health reform (follow Croakey on Twitter for breaking coverage) but I somehow doubt that the Australian leaders’ debate tomorrow on health reform will generate anywhere near the level of interest.
Croakey reluctantly acknowledges that not everyone finds health reform a fascinating topic of conversation, and that for many, it is one big yawn.
So here’s a little something to jazz up the health debate – a cute health-promoting venture that adds a bit of fun to walking up stairs. The fact that it is actually a clever marketing exercise for Volkwagen (and an example of the classic PR strategy of creating a health halo for anti public health industries) doesn’t really detract too much.
The people at The Fun Theory (a VW initiative) try to find ways to change behaviour using fun. There may be something to this, given how hard it can be to change behaviour in the health system – whether of health professionals, patients or managers etc.
What might our health care debate sound like, if there was a bit more fun involved? (This is a serious question…)
