The Australian has quite a history of being not very nice about Crikey, most recently suggesting that our illustrious leader, Jonathan Green, is “not a real editor”. Not to be confused with an unreal editor, of course.
Croakey isn’t one for grudges. We’re avid readers of the health section of the Weekend Australian, as one of the few mainstream sources of indepth coverage of health policy. Sadly this is an issue that switches off most editors, in our experience at least.
Other regular readers of the section (whose worst feature is that it can be so difficult to find) may be interested to know that it has a new editor, the science writer Leigh Dayton. (Adam Cresswell is apparently being freed up to concentrate on news – presumably because it’s going to be an important time for health news in coming months).
So for those interested in pitching stories and columns to the Oz’s health section, you know who to contact.
