Many people with knee osteoarthritis receive inappropriate care – including imaging, surgery and arthroscopy – at great personal cost and to the wider health system.
Many people with the condition are not aware of the range of non-surgical interventions that can help them avoid or delay surgery.
Please join us at a #CroakeyLIVE to hear from a range of experts with direct experience in trying to change this situation, through the development and implementation of clinical care guidelines, their own clinical practice, through policy and service reform, and wider health reform advocacy.
The webinar – from 5-6pm AEST on Tuesday, 13 August – will be held during the same week as the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care plans to launch its revised Osteoarthritis of the Knee Clinical Care Standard.
The discussion will be moderated by Dr Elizabeth Deveny, CEO of the Consumers Health Forum of Australia.
Panel members include:
Dr Phoebe Holdenson Kimura is a Medical Advisor for the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, and is a general practitioner based in Sydney, working in policy and medical and health professional education.
Dr Nigel Hartnett is a specialist knee surgeon based in Naarm/Melbourne and works to reduce unnecessary knee surgery.
