To help us through these stressful pandemic times, Croakey Health Media is launching an online chair yoga class for our readers and others to join.
Hosted by Paula O’Connell, the classes will be held from 11am-noon (AEST) on Tuesday and Thursday mornings throughout April.
The classes are free to all frontline healthcare workers.
Others are asked to contribute $5 per class, which will go towards our public interest journalism funding pool, and help support our ongoing coverage of COVID-19.
To join, please register your interest here:

Paula O’Connell, Director, Operations, Business and Finance for Croakey Health Media, is an experienced teacher of chair yoga, which takes traditional yoga poses and adapts them for the chair.
Says O’Connell:
Our students are taken through exercises such as sun salutations and downward dogs all from a seated position.
There is no getting on the floor.
Schedule some chair yoga into your day to reconnect, stretch and breathe.”
As VicHealth says in this statement released today:
As life as we know it changes and physical interaction is limited, being active is more important than ever.
Doing some form of exercise is an easy and free way to boost both your mental and physical health, and now is the ideal time to try a new activity.”
